I've never experienced Reiki before. Is that okay?
Absolutely.
Many people who visit Paper Moon are experiencing Reiki for the very first time. You don't need any prior knowledge or experience—only a willingness to give yourself an hour of care.
Do I have to believe in Reiki?
Not at all.
You don't need to share my beliefs or understand Reiki before you arrive. Some people experience it as an energy practice. Others simply enjoy the deep relaxation and quiet space it provides.
Whatever your perspective, you are welcome here.
What happens during a session?
We'll begin with a cup of tea and a conversation. This is your time to settle in, ask questions, and share as much—or as little—as you'd like.
You'll then relax, fully clothed, on a comfortable treatment table while I gently place my hands on or just above different areas of your body.
Afterward, we'll spend a few quiet moments reflecting on your experience before you head home.
What should I wear?
Anything that helps you feel comfortable.
Soft, comfortable clothing is ideal, but there are no special requirements.
Will I be touched?
With your permission, Reiki is traditionally offered through gentle hand placements on the body. I will always explain what to expect, respect your comfort level, and adapt the session to your preferences.
What if I fall asleep?
Then your body probably needed it.
Many people drift into a deeply restful state during a session. Others remain awake the entire time.
Both experiences are completely normal.
What if I cry?
Then we'll make space for that too.
Sometimes emotions surface when we finally allow ourselves to slow down. Tears are never something to apologize for.
Everything you experience here is met with compassion, never judgment.
What if I don't feel anything?
That's perfectly okay.
Every person's experience is different.
Some people notice warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation.
Others simply enjoy an hour of uninterrupted stillness.
There is no "right" way to experience Reiki.
Some people find that the effects come later, when they’re able to sleep well, smile and laugh more easily, or simply stay more present in a moment.
How many sessions will I need?
There isn't a single answer.
Some people visit once for a moment of rest.
Others return regularly because they've found it supports their overall well-being.
We'll always let your needs—not a package or a schedule—guide the journey.
Is Reiki a replacement for medical care?
No.
Reiki is a complementary wellness practice that can be enjoyed alongside conventional medical care. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace advice from qualified healthcare professionals.
I'm feeling nervous.
That's okay too.
Walking into a new space can feel vulnerable.
My hope is that, within a few moments of arriving, you'll feel as though you've been welcomed into a place where you don't have to perform, explain, or be anything other than yourself.
What will I leave with?
Every visit is different.
Some people leave with clarity.
Some with peace.
Some with a handwritten reflection, a meaningful conversation, or a small token chosen just for them.
What matters most isn't what you carry in your hands.
It's how you feel as you walk back out into the world.
One final question
How do I know if Paper Moon is right for me?
If you've been longing for a place where you can simply slow down...
If you've been carrying more than anyone realizes...
If you miss feeling connected to yourself, to nature, or to the quiet wonder of being alive...
Then I think you've already found your way here.
